I wish the deafening silence here wasn’t interrupted with a post about such a tragic event such as the wildfires here in San Diego where I live (I was about 700 feet from being evacuated!) but while I still have other projects taking up much of my time, I want to make sure people that would like to donate know a great place to donate:
http://www.mccormicktribune.org/firerelief/nctcw5.aspx
That site is run by a couple of local entities, The North County Times (2nd largest newspaper in San Diego) and San Diego CW5 (the local Warner Bros. TV station), and I saw it while serendipitously having the TV on that channel and seeing that they are matching 50% of donations until they’ve reached $500,000, with all admin costs paid for such that basically 150% of what you pay is donated to wildfire relief. In other words, your donation will go FURTHER than it generally would if you donated directly to the Red Cross for instance.
