I co-own a domain name with Steve. This domain was the former forum and is currently ranked around 14,000 at Alexa. We had parked it at one service and it had been earning between $100-250 a day initially. Traffic dropped to a little over half what it was doing and since then has pretty well stabilized. We decided it was time to try to actively sell the domain.
We decided that it might be a good idea to park the domain with Sedo. Even though our experience has generally been that Sedo’s parking payout is inferior for most of the traffic we deal with, we hoped this would be offset by exposure to a broader audience who might be attracted by the solid parking statistics. I contacted my rep @ SedoPro for assistance in setting keywords. No response. This in spite of it being one of the highest traffic domains parked with Sedo in the marketplace.
Sure enough, within one day of parking, we received our first offer. Within the first several days we received a total of 6 offers. Of course, not close to what we were looking for but the offers were only based on a fraction of actual traffic since Sedo doesn’t show the initial start date for parking.
I woke up this morning, checked my email and saw we had received 2 new offers. Great! Things were picking up. Current stats for the domain were showing 29,000 visitors. I countered the 2 offers and just a short time later received this email from Sedo:
